Fesh (That's fish and seafood to you and me)
Lebowan Prawns This is a dish from the port of Lebowa , a place famous for its seafood and in particular its prawns. This recipe is a variation on the more traditional dish (see below) as it includes no rice and compliments the crustaceans with slithers of courgette and chunks of roasted beetroot and horseradish.
As far as dwarfs go this is an adopted meal and the vegetables here are really on sufferance. Generally speaking a dwarf is happier with a steaming bowl of prawns positively drowning in butter or oil and garlic with several large hunks of fresh dwarf bread and a good quantity of ale.(Also see below.) Still, you can't have everything can you? Click on the picture or here to view recipe.
Fish Chowder is a great fall back recipe or comfort food for dwarfs. It' the mixed fish , the heat from the spice and the big beans that make it a favourite. It's a one-pot meal as well so its good for those protracted campaigns - when you have access to fish (or shellfish) that is.
As the name implies, it is a dish with some heat in it. Exactly how much heat you require is up to personal taste but this recipe uses smoked paprika and cayenne pepper but you can use a milder spice or, as an option (not used here) add a little sour cream to the mix just before you serve.
